The manager of Galicia Calidade, Ana Méndez, today handed over the certificate of use of the Xunta de Galicia's guarantee mark to the managers of Conservas Cortizo, in a ceremony that took place at the company's headquarters, located in the town council of Rianxo (A Coruña), where the factory where all its products are manufactured is located.
At this meeting, the head of Galicia Calidade, a body dependent on the Regional Ministry of Economy, Industry and Innovation, explained that obtaining the seal of guarantee will allow the company to include the new signage that identifies the companies adhering to Galicia Calidade on their façades, as well as adding the distinctive sign in the different actions for their commercial promotion.
Ana Méndez praised the company's commitment to quality, whose main objective is consumer safety, which is why they created their own quality control laboratory. The company currently has more than 70 employees and a turnover of around 10 million euros a year.
The origins of Conservas Cortizo come from an old factory in the castle of the municipality, called Conservera de Rianxo. In 1975, the company moved to its current location in order to expand and modernise production.
