Vía Atlántica was founded in O Rosal, at the point where the River Miño meets the Atlantic, a unique location within the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. With roots dating back to the 1980s, when some of the area’s first professional vineyards were planted, the winery began a new chapter in 2021 following the arrival of the Méndez-Rojo family, who are driving the revival of its historical legacy. The original vineyard has been restored, the facilities modernised, and traditional practices such as trellising and hillside terraces revived. The result is a winery that combines history and modernity to produce Albariños and multi-varietal wines that reflect the Atlantic freshness and the identity of O Rosal.
