The club was founded in 1906 with the objective of bringing together water sports in the city. It has a heated indoor pool, which was the first one installed in Galicia and gives great impetus to the sport of swimming and water polo, allowing athletes to train all year. The Royal Yacht Club of Vigo has been reinforcing its sporting, social and cultural activity, becoming an important sports reference.
