The Director of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Merelles, and the Director General of Trade and Consumer Affairs, Manuel Heredia, participated today in the awards ceremony of the J80 2023 World Championship in Baiona, which ends tomorrow. More than 400 athletes, 80 sailboats from 43 countries gathered throughout this week putting the Rías Baixas in the centre of nautical tourism, a sporting spectacle that, at the same time, translates into a significant economic impact and tourism promotion of the territory outside the high season, thus promoting sailing throughout the year thanks to the characteristics of the Galician estuaries and the nautical facilities of excellence that Galicia has.
